With more than 30 years in the technology industry, there is no doubt that Haroldo Jacobovicz has seen changes in Brazilian technology. First, it was his parents, who the now 60-year-old Haroldo Jacobovicz says mentored him into loving technology. When growing up as a kid, Haroldo would see his parents deliberate on a number of issues in their living room. Upon reaching a common agreement, the parents would then start to work on the project, which according to Haroldo Jacobovicz, would take days even weeks to complete. Upon completion, the project would turn out to be amazing and more
Now that age is catching with him (although he is still energetic), Haroldo feels that it is about the time to give back to the people he grew up with. Through a press release, Haroldo Jacobovicz recently announced that he was going to donate over 250k reais that will be channeled to various institutions spread across Curitiba and the environs. Some of the institutions Haroldo is targeting include animal protection centers, nursing homes, orphanages, daycare centers, and cancer treatment centers. The funding will also help other institutions such as hospitals, homes for those living with various physical and mental disabilities and the homeless.
Although the announcement has been made, the 60-year-old entrepreneur says that the initial phase of the funding will be rolled out in January 2022 and will continue until the set goals have been achieved. When making the announcement, the technology investor said, “As I celebrate my 60th year, I think it is about that time I need to start developing the philanthropic culture. I will ensure that deserving institutions and those in those institutions get the necessary help to change their lives.” Mr. Jacobovicz is the founder of Horizons Telecom, which he founded in 2010 a few years after quitting formal employment. He also founded Horizons Datacenter and E-Govern.
